Introduction and background slides
We have put together 4 annotated PowerPoint slide decks with background material at various levels. The pre-SDSS introductions are designed to scaffold a class to the point that the concept of an astronomical survey like SDSS can be understood. The Introduction to SDSS slides cover material similar to that in the Background section.

Constellations
Get to know your SDSS plate by constructing a large constellation of stars, galaxies and quasars. This activity will refer you back to our Hands-On page for more information about how to locate objects on your plate and find information about them on the SDSS pages.
